Clean Air For Children Program
Protecting children's health & safety through clean indoor air in childcare

Program overview
Southwest Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) has designed its Clean Air for Children Program throughout the state of Michigan, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to improving indoor air quality in childcare environments while fostering community-wide health and resiliency.
Prioritizing licensed home-based childcare programs in underserved communities, we will bring validated air quality solutions and educational resources to those most impacted by climate and public health disparities, addressing air quality challenges and creating healthier spaces for children to breathe, learn, and thrive in.

This program not only strives to reduce airborne risks but also to raise awareness about the critical role of indoor air quality in protecting children, and overall public health – and you can be a part of our positive change.
Join our journey towards cleaner indoor air for the state of Michigan.
Our program's goals

Enhance childhood health and safety
Our program strives to safeguard children health by addressing indoor air quality challenges through validated solutions, creating safer, healthier learning environments during early child development.

Simplify complex topics and data
Through our interactive data dashboard, we take complex air quality data and simplify it through easy-to-understand visualizations, applicable health practices, concise alerts, and shareable materials – all to guide healthier everyday living.

Empower childcare providers
We hope to empower childcare providers through unbiased data and targeted resources to enhance their environments for the utmost safety and comfort of children and staff – lending to brighter futures for all.

Increase accessibility to knowledge
Everyone deserves to breathe clean air. That is why we plan to build greater knowledge and awareness for air quality and its impact on our health, safety, and environment among our community, doing so through public data-sharing, resources, and events.
